Dr. Tim Davis is the Chair of the Department of Social Work at Fort Hays State University. Dr. Davis attended FHSU as a first generation college student, and received a BA in Sociology, emphasizing in criminal justice, and a minor in political science. He received a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from The University of Kansas with a concentration in clinical social work. He earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Northcentral University with an emphasis in health psychology-behavioral medicine. He is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in the State of Kansas..
Dr. Davis has an extensive practice history in mental health, and continues to be active in clinical practice at HaysMed, where he specializes in bio-psycho-social assessment, individual and family psychotherapy, and consultation to the medical staff as an expert in behavioral health. Dr. Davis is very involved in developing and enhancing the practice of social work. In this capacity, he has served on multiple state level boards and advisory councils. He joined the Preferra’s Risk Management Education Program on 2025.
