Refining Your Social Work Skills for Successful Telehealth Services

On Demand Recording

Date & Time: Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM EDT
Format: Interactive Synchronous Distance Preferra Learn LMS / Zoom
Continuing Education: 1.5 CE Ethic Hours
Target Audience: Social Workers
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, we hosted a 90-minute webinar on the best practices for social workers using telehealth as their preferred method for serving clients.

Telehealth allows professionals to reach individuals with mobility issues, those living in rural or remote areas, or those with long commute times. Professionals using telehealth have reported fewer no-show appointments and improved work-life balance.

However, providing services via telehealth requires social workers to understand and comply with state requirements, their Code of Ethics, the Standards for Technology in Social Work Practice, and HIPAA compliance.

This webinar addressed those areas and shared valuable risk management lessons learned over the past few years. Our instructors reviewed complex case studies illustrating the foundational elements needed for a healthy telehealth practice.

  2. Develop and implement (or review, if already in place) their telehealth protocol —incorporating guidelines and principles from the NASW, ASWB, CSWE, & CSWA Standards for Technology in Social Work Practice and the Code of Ethics.
  3. Design and implement a periodic evaluation process to comply with HIPAA requirements for telehealth services and proactively address potential breaches.
