Many healthcare occupations, including mental and behavioral health professions, allow their professionals to practice in different states by holding a multistate license. Social Work is not yet the case.
Currently, many social workers hold licenses in more than one state when needed, and many more are anxiously waiting for the Social Work Multistate Licensure Compact to be 100% operational.
This 90-minute, live, interactive webinar will provide actionable information and guidance that you can implement immediately in your current practice setting.

Learning Objectives
After the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify reliable sources in their state(s) of practice that regulate licensing, monitor state laws, and provide practice updates for the social work profession.
- Follow the status of the Social Work Multistate Licensure Compact and identify trusted sources to obtain updates on its progress.
- Develop and implement a process to maintain full control over licensing renewal requirements and deadlines.
Course Completion & CE Information
Social workers must attend the entire webinar and complete a course evaluation to receive CE credit.
All states accept ACE providers except New York.
New York does not accept ASWB ACE provider or course/conference approval. Preferra is in the process of applying for approval as a Continuing Education Provider for LMSWs and LCSWs in New York. We anticipate receiving approval in the first semester of 2026.
Even when a social work board accepts courses offering ASWB ACE credit, licensees are responsible for determining whether courses meet the CE requirements in their jurisdictions. States and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether any individual course may be accepted for credit.
