On Demand Recording
As a part of the social work education journey, field placement plays an important role. It allows future professionals to gain hands-on experience in real-world settings, such as agencies, hospitals, schools, or shelters, where they can apply learned theory to practice.
While social work students are in field placement, the school, and most likely, program directors, faculty, and field placement officers, may face vicarious liability, along with the supervising organization, for a student’s wrongful act or negligence.
Even simple mistakes by a student can put everyone involved in the education and internship process at risk.
