A Live, Interactive Webinar
Thursday, March 27, 2025 – 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm EDT
Target Audience: Social Workers
Good, solid, complete, and up-to-date documentation is one of the most crucial risk management tools for social work professionals.
Social workers must document all interactions with their clients. They should also record exchanges with colleagues, supervisors, or any other third parties that could impact their performance in accordance with the profession’s code of ethics.
In addition to the proper documentation, social workers must understand how to maintain records, including storage options, client accessibility, and compliance with their state’s statute of limitation, if applicable.
Through this 1.5-credit interactive webinar, this 90-minute live, interactive webinar will provide information and guidance that you can implement immediately in your current practice setting.
Learning Objectives
After the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Create or revise their documentation and recordkeeping protocols to ensure that client data is complete, up to date, and structured to identify and correct areas of risk.
- Develop or revise recordkeeping policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state regulations and confidently respond to records requests from clients and third parties.
- Make informed decisions about using artificial intelligence to automate client notes, understanding the importance of training to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, industry compliance, and security.

Course Completion & CE Information
Social workers must attend the entire webinar and complete a course evaluation to receive CE credit.
All states accept ACE providers except New York.
New York does not accept ASWB ACE provider or course/conference approval. Preferra is already in the process of applying for approval as a Continuing Education Provider for LMSWs and LCSWs in New York. We anticipate receiving approval early in the second half of 2025.
West Virginia accepts ACE providers and courses for programs offered outside the state or through distance learning. This webinar/course is accepted in WV.
Even when a social work board accepts courses offering ASWB ACE credit, licensees are responsible for determining whether courses meet the CE requirements in their jurisdictions. States and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether any individual course may be accepted for credit.
